Wisconsin USATF meet

#1

Some pretty decent times were run today down at Carthage. Nothing that will blow anyone out of the water, but the 1600 and 3k had the feel of decently a semi-competitive varsity meet, at least for mid-February. Ben Eidens***** of Nekoosa out-kicked a kid from Illinois to win the 3k in 9:14.42 and Jack Heinrich won the 1600 in 4:38.26. Both races went out slowly and had pretty large negative splits. I don’t have the exact times for the 3k, but it was basically a two man race, and the last couple laps looked pretty fast. Don’t know much more than that though. The 1600 went out in 2:23 and Heinrich came back in 2:15 with a number of runners bunched behind him.

Also in pre-season high school track, Taylor Floyd-Mews ran a 9:09.10 in the 3k at a UWM Developmental meet on January 4th.

Here are the results from today with the schools that the runners go to that I could find:

Good performance from Huertas in the 400, looks like he’s prepared for the season to start.

How about Caleb Ogden from Oak Creek, .01 of a second behind state 400meter champion in 2013. Had a PR of 50:03 last year, think he is a Junior?

According to Milesplit, he’s a sophomore actually
