Tuka "not a major threat to Amos" according to coach

#1

Coach Jean Verster suggests the nation (Botswana) should not worry much about the prospect of Amos being upstaged at the World Championships.

  • “one swallow doesn’t make a summer” - referring to Amo’s loss to Amel Tuka in Monaco
  • “I still think Rudisha is our main threat”
  • " Amos could break the world record…could also become… the first person in 800 metre to record a sub 1:40"

It’s a passionate coach speaking at the end but it’s still world record talk. – I doubt he’ll set the world record or even get close at worlds. But he might very well win.

I’d pick those three to end up with the medals but I’m not going to count the Frenchman out of the game completely and where will Souleiman go here or 1500?

Souleiman was planning on doubling the last I heard.

Bosse really tends to fade in the stretch – not likely a medal contender, in my view.
