The College Avenue Mile (REPOST)

"First defined by the Parliament of England as 5,280 feet in 1593, this distance soon became running’s magical event. John Walker once said, ‘The 800 meter record, the records in the 1000, the 1500, the 5000, the relays; no one remembers them. The mile, they remember. Only the mile.’ Sir Roger Bannister, in 1954, became the first human to run it in under four minutes. Mary Slaney (4:16) and Alan Webb (3:46) are America’s current record holders.
New York City has the Wanamaker Mile; Norway has the Dream Mile; Oregon has the Bowerman Mile; Vancouver had the Miracle Mile. Now, in New Jersey, we have the College Ave Mile. Be a part of running history. How fast can you the mile?"
