Rudisha injured, out of pre 800

#1

In more serious news, an MRI was performed yesterday at the Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Eugene on the knee of David Rudisha, the world recordholder in the 800m. The scan showed bruising of the bone and underlying ligaments. Efforts today to test out the knee during a light workout did not go well, and Rudisha has had to withdraw from the Prefontaine Classic 800m.

I don’t give a rats ass about the pre 800, it would suck if this is something serious that affects him for moscow.

Bruised bones are serious sh*t. That’s more than likely a 3+ weeks off. Luckily he’s the defending champion so he’s got the wild card, so he doesn’t have to worry about the gauntlet that is the Kenyan Trials. But this still does not bode well for his championship defense.

Dang, best of luck in the recovery for him.

The only good thing about this is it could/ will make the 800 a little more competitive/ interesting for the rest of the year albeit most likely slower.
