Looking foward to the girls mile should be a great match up
I see Mary Cain and Ajee Wilson are entered in the Mile. Who would beat who was a hot topic in the middle of this thread a while back.
Looking forward to the :
Malone/Watkins/Bile/burcham matchup, one not to be missed
I am intrigued to see if the pace is hot up front through 1000 meters, it’d almost be more exciting if they hung around slow and banged home quick as I’m not sure Watkins can hang off sub 4:10 fractions early on. Could be quite the race
Sean McGorty from Virginia, son of Westfield decathlon great, Kevin McGorty, will also be in the race - and he can run. Martin
Burcham with his 4:07.20 full mile from Brooks has the fastest time this season but I have to go with Malone. Still Burcham has wheels too so it should be very interesting.
Well I guess this solves it…for now at least
1 2 Mary Cain Bronxville (Bronxville, NY) 4:39.28
2 1 Angel Piccirillo Homer Center (Homer City, PA) 4:47.49
3 9 Samantha George Millbrook (Raleigh, NC) 4:48.11
4 4 Ajee’ Wilson Neptune (Neptune, NJ) 4:52.89
More Importantly, unofficial splits71/74/72/62!!!
Just dropped the hammer:cool:
I didn’t see the race but based on the time it looks like a dominant win for Mary Cain over a talented field.
I could be wrong, but I believe that this is a new national sophomore class record for the mile.
The old record appears to be 4:40.24 6/20/2009 Chlsey Sveinsson, Greenhills, Addison, TX.
Mary Cain (Bronxville NY) won the girls Mile with a blazing 62.5 last 400m to set the Penn Relays record at 4:39.28! The time is also a National Class Record and National Age Record for 15 year olds.
