MSTCA State Relays

Saturday Div 2 Walpole Div 3 Pembroke

Sunday Div 1 Andover Div 4 Abington

Who going, who’s gearing up, will records be broken?

Don’t know about Eastern MA Relays - but I am looking forward to the return of Colin Bennie in Central MA.

He makes Wachusett a favorite in just about any relay he decides to run in out here (SMR/DMR/4x800) and certainly helps them be very competitive at the state level.

I hope with this weekends action the entire board “wakes up” - it has been very slow/quiet - just not much action to talk about as of yet this season.

The board is dead.

Cold, windy inconsistent weather has people training and not a lot of fast times to discuss. Relays will help kick start things but we will need names to get talking.

Did Gloucester get moved to Division I in Outdoor Track? Have they been in this division and I just missed it?

If you look at the Perf List on the MSTCA Website for this weekends meet, it lists Gloucester on the boys for several events.

Also, if you check the MIAA alignment for 2014-2017 it says Gloucester, Needham and Mansfield will be added to D1 (it also says Gloucester is currently a D1 team).

There hasn’t been anything else to discuss but current performances?
Predictions, for season, sport administration, current events all are topics that have graced the board in the past.

I have come to the realization that the board is dead

Ah, but the good news is that your tomatoes are growing very nicely and will be ready to transport your way in another week or so. You will be getting two varieties (Oregon Spring and Rutgers Heirloom)…

All relay sites are collecting for the fund this weekend. MSTCA is hoping for a great response.

No Mansfield, Marshfield? how come???

Two good relays to watch yesterday in Central MA - Bennie came from 4-5 seconds back and ran 4:19 1600 split to win DMR for Wachusett in 10:35 over Crowley from SJS (who ran 4:26 split - Green did not run in that relay for SJS). Came back later in the day to anchor SMR to victory in his heat in 3:41 (ran 1:59). Not sure why SJS was not in their heat, but Murphy anchored them to victory in that heat, 3:39 for the overall win.

Algonquin had an impressive 4x200 debut, running 1:32.

Marshfield had a meet the day before. Mansfield I assume opted out because they would have had 3 meets in a small window time frame of 6 days if I’m correct.

Like spring we are all waking up with the warm weather now approaching. Much too cold of a spring for great times.I heard alot of kids are nursing some minor injuries from preseason due to cold weather and hard surfaces. Plus not as many invitational meets like indoors to see kids from other districts… you have to wait till mid may to see District and Invitational meets to see times. Many if not almost all of outdoor track is run on hand held times the first 4 weeks so nothing gets posted on or mile split.

Looking forward to seeing how many of the indoor stars do outdoor as we had UNBELIEVABLE talent this winter on both girls and boys side!!

Interesting news out of Wachusett has Colleen Sands is not on the team this spring.

Not confirmed but a big matchup in central ma of Cahill vs Dawidczyk did not go off as planned earlier in the month. Dawidczyk layed up with a leg injury of sort, and did not compete in the meet, although since there have been reports in the local paper that she has ran and won the 200 , but not hearing anything about hurdles. would be a shame. the two will not meet up again till the new central ma state meet in westfield.

9:00 PM and no DI results?

Not trying to be a jerk here, but what other sport deals with this? Please put the results online in a timely fashion if you’re timing an event.

I miss Coolrunning, not sure why the MSTCA can’t allow results to be posted to multiple sites.

Milesplit has the results:
