MoHills Pride...Soloff-Tansey into Heps 1500 Final

Great day for MoHills, huge team win.

Venerable alums Kyle Soloff and Liam Tansey are both in tomorrow’s 1500m final at Heps. Perhaps nothing to write home about yet for Soloff who’s been running well for a bit now, but signs of rapid fitness gains for Tansey…watch out, “when he’s right” as Kinger would say, he’s very, very good. 3:50.point in the prelims for Tansey. Not in the final, but DelVal alum Brian Schilder, who probably never got mentioned here ever ran 3:54 for Brown.

Aaron King led the Big East Decathlon after day #1, and I think he won (final tally isn’t up yet.)

Great to see, 8:37 is a potential big NCAA scorer…and he’s winning these big races, as well. I suppose you could call this Ed Moran-esque progression? A guy who was known, but far from much ballyhooed in HS and became a huge success at the next level. Not like Mahoney was from an obscure program and didn’t get the chance to race good guys, either. Really excited to see how the season unfolds for him…hope he gets a crack at a flat race. Then again, maybe leave the barriers up for him over 1500m and 5000m, seems to be doing with them in the way.

Actually don’t recall Travis running 9:16 in that race either. Although, I do have some pretty vivid memories from that race. Thanks for bringing it up, wish I would have been wearing Depends, think I just soiled myself again at the recollection of it…

Michelle Brown - 54.66 in heats to qualify yesterday then a 54.38 for 4th today.

Jersey goes 1 - 2 in 800

1 164 Renee Tomlin SR GEORGETOWN 2:05.42S
2 143 Chelsea Cox FR GEORGETOWN 2:06.49S

Lauren Penney 4th in 5000.

Tetreault 6th 3:48.xx in Big East 1500m.

Heps men’s 1500 was a craptical affair, Soloff 4th. Princeton is scoring a lot of the points. Assume Leung in 5000m. Cabral triple probably unneccessary.

Couple of things, I kind of thought Liam might struggle a bit in final as he had to run a PR and a huge College best just to get to final.

It looks like he is back on track though and that is so great to see, just a marvelous talent. I still believe he is a sub 4 threat while at Columbia and nice to see him tracking foward now.

I was a bit surprised they asked Soloff to run that double again, but I see the meet was closer than Coach Dolan probably would have liked. Amirault has a lot fewer races on his wheels over last 4 years, I believe. He has really run great this last year+, looking like the HS stud that he was.

I saw the Tomlin race, she just exploded by with 300M to go and carried it all the way, Cox, running great late in that race.

Race went out in 65 , very nice negative split job by Renee, who has just really lit it up this past 15 months.

Great job by Higginson. Kim Standridge.

Yes, both Tomlin and Cox very impressive today. I believe Renee also split somewhere in the 2:04 - 05 range anchoring the Hoyas to victory in the 4 x 800. And she got the stick with a decent lead so it was a solo effort.

I agree. He just needed a few months of healthy running to get going again. It takes some people a bit longer to adjust to college running, but if you watch the race, he’s adjusted. I couldn’t be happier for him.

where can I watch that 3:50.x

and when will we see you again out there?

Also check you PMs

Race is on flotrack.

I am running again, not at full mileage yet, but a whole lot better than nothing. You may see a few random, half-assed road race results pop up in the summer, but I’d say XC for real.

I hope you get back and at full strength sooner than later.

I did watch the race and Liam looked about as good as he used to maing a hard move from 300M out, probably 25M early as he just faded a tad in last 30M

Very encouraging to see him run that way again. I am hoping he may go 3:47.x still this year?
