There will be 42 athletes in both the M&W 5,000m races at the OGs.
The fields will be filled first by athletes with the time standards and then going down the rankings till the 42 field size is filled. Subject to the 3 per nation rule& being selected by the nations governing body of course.

The time standards are to insure the fastest athletes are not excluded because the don’t match the requirement for placement high on the ranking system.
