Girls XC

#1

Nobody’s talking much about girls XC this year… but Champlain Valley ran pretty well at their state meet on Saturday. This course is muddy, hilly, and longer than 5K (around 3.2 miles). Full results at http://www.lancertiming.com/results/fall11/vtgc.htm

CVU… solid team… they have a good shot to get back to PDX… a few NJ and some MA teams might have something to say about that… the field is wide open in the NE no doubt…
as far as NY, if NY gets 2 at large bids the 2nd one is really up for grabs.

Paul,

How do the NY girls look for a possible 4th bid? I would think that NY is pretty solid to take 1 at large bid. Does any other region seem to be a strong bet for another bid?

On another note…CV looks to be improving every time out. They could be real tought in the NE come regional time.

California would be my best bet for another region that seems to be a strong bet to get two at-large girls bids besides New York. New York last had 4 teams at NXN in 2009 and finished 1st (F-M obviously), 2nd (Saratoga), 7th (Queensbury) and 8th (Shenendehowa)

This is correct… and Queensbury was lucky to get in at all. Barring a spat between Burnt Hills’ best runner and their coach, BH very likely would’ve taken 4th over Qby in the regional that year.
