Edward Cheserek To Oregon!

Edward cheserek chose oregon just a few hours before he broke the national high school indoor two-mile record by running 8:39.15 in the elite men’s race to place 8th at the Millrose Games at the 168th Street Armory in New York City. The old record was 8:40.0 by Gerry Lindgren of Rogers High in Spokane, Wash. in 1964. It was the oldest boys high school national indoor record in the book.

Just eager, do u think he got a full ride?

Full athletics ride? Nope. Full ride with athletics, minority, academic, grants, outside scholarhips? Maybe.

Here’s a philosophical question: Should a guy who spent the first 16+ years of his life as part of a 98% racial majority… suddenly be given “minority” grants?

There’s nothing philosophical about it.

If he was attending college where he grew up, he wouldn’t get a minority scholarship.

Should anybody get minority scholarships?
