Boys race crawls thru 65-2:12 first half as top four look at each other and no one wants to take lead. Rono is actually boxed in 4th with McCormick and Brakewood in back of box. Paternostro makes move to the lead with about 600 to go and opens up at the bell (3:18.5). He closes in 59.3 and Rono, running 57.8 closes but can’t catch him. 5, 6 and 9 finishers run personal bests and D’Agostino sets school record.
Girls race suffers from loss of LaGuardia and McCurdy at last minute as no one in field of 5 wants to lead either as race goes 77-2:35. DiSomma goes to lead in 3rd lap (3:53) and seems ready to go. But injury still has kept her from her explosive finish and Fields sails by running a 68 final 400. Traub outkicks DiSomma in final 40 meters.
