ACC, Larry Ellis

Still amazed by the Travis Mahoney steeple. Any insight here? Looks like he ran 4:11 and 8:23 indoors. Very good. 8:41 is excellent. Congrats to him.

Agree with Kinger on Tansey…huge upside there. Look at what happened his senior year at Morris Hills when healthy. Eventually he’ll get there again, and there’ll be some big things.

ACC meet…no Schellberg in 1500, so must be running 5000m tonight. UVa Jersey Combo in the 1500 final…Robby Andrews 3:46.45 to win his heat, Brett Johnson joins him. Florida State’s Ciaran O’Lionaird is having a great season, has run very fast, 3:40ish and 28:30ish. These can be affairs won in 3:50plus with big kicks. Will be interesting to see how Andrews fares at this distance. Johnson has come a long way this season, consistently solid races. Good to see.

Mahoney also split 2:57/2:58 as a leadoff for Temple DMR at indoor IC4A

Travis led from the gun. Nobody challenged him … he looked great.

Cheserek the same in the 5000. A few slow laps after the rabbit dropped.

Anthony Lee of WWP North PR in the steeple
Trish Reilly a low 4:30s 1500
and Jon Squeri again under 15:00 at 5000m

North Wayton State indeed …

I spoke with Mahoney today. No one is more surprised then he is.
Mahoney said he’s dropped 34 seconds in his last two races. He went from 9:14 to 9:00 to 8:41.

So, he’s a math major?
