This is the Division 1 state record for the 1600m Run which was set by Gabe Jennings of Madison East in 1997. This record withstood a heroic effort by Chris Solinsky in 2003 (4:05.28) but other than that has remained untouched. After learning that Jennings won in 4:12.07 as a junior (4:09.32y at National Scholastic Outdoor) it made me think with three runners coming back from last year that were under his 1996 time that this record might indeed be scared again and potentially be in jeopardy. What do you think?

I would love to see the record go down but I just can not see it with so many athletes doubling/tripling this year. If the 1600 was to be run on the first day I would say yes.
