Griak Indoor Classic:

Mounds View’s sophomore who was outside of the top 7 for XC last season won the 3200 with a 9:58. Very impressive season opening time. Mounds View returns 4 of the top 7 in XC next year. All of those 4 went under 16:20, including an 8th grader who ran a 16:19.

If that sophomore continues to improve this spring and it translates to the performances in 5k’s on the grass and hills, he’ll be able close the gap on the 4th returner and Mounds View will likely win their first ever state XC title (they current have 4 runner up finishes including one last year) and maybe even come back to NXN.

Sacay wins the 1600 in 4:32 and MV’s 8th grader takes 2nd with a 4:35

Anyone have results from Stillwater on 4/3?

Mounds View Quad:

Future Gophers (Streit/Hoeft) go 1&2 in the boys 1600.
Mounds View’s 8th grader goes sub 10 in the 3200.

#7

It was essentially a handheld time trial. No official results kept.

Mounds View’s track site posted results for their athletes here, but no news on results from other schools.

#8

Not a lot of actual meets so far this year to provide a qualifying time or mark for the Hamline Elite Meet.

The forecast over the next few days is going to limit future opportunities as well…

#9

Armstrong Invitational:

Eden Prairie is finally racing for the first time, and Derouin appears healthy from what is seen in the 3200. Eden Prairie boys also had great performance from other nonseniors in distance events, which means they will have a good chance to qualify for state in XC out of 6AA next fall if the performance translates to the grass and hills.

Pony Relays:

Outstanding 1600 and 3200 times from Mounds View underclassmen.
Mounds View’s 8th grader ran a 9:41

Park Tri:

Highland Park freshman ran a 9:41
