2011-2012 MLB Hot Stove

The first major signing in the MLB happened today. According to espn.com, Jonathan Papelbon signed a four year $50 million deal with the Phillies. I think that is really a waste of money on any closer.

#2

Pujols, Reyes and Buehrle all meeting with the Miami Marlins. Never thought I’d see the day…

#3

I won’t know what to do with myself if Mark Buehrle leaves the Sox. Which seems more than likely at the moment.

Why the hell would they throw that kind of money at a closer when half of their starting rotation is as likely to end the game themselves as they are to give the ball to a reliever? Whatever though, as a Red Sox fan, thank you Failies for making that one more overrated player Cherington didn’t have to face criticism over no matter what he did. Do you guys want Carl Crawford too by any chance? For say… any of your staring rotation but Blanton? Even Worley would be nice… no? Okay. Sigh.

Twins sign Jamey Carroll. I’m happy with it.
