2010 NCAA Conference Result/Discussion thread

#1

We’ve already got 4 conferences in the books guys and no discussion?

IVY - Princeton winning easy (33 pts). Someone on Lestrun rubbing it in Rojo’s face for making excuses for not knowing how to coach.

MAAC - Iona. Did I even need to say it? 18pts w/o Sheridan.

Mountain West - New Mexico winning both men and women again, 33pts each, over BYU. They didn’t look quite as strong though as they were at Notre Dame…falling apart again? Both UNM and BYU seem to be falling apart actually.

Southland - Lamar wins. Does anyone even like this conference?

Note: pumped for PAC-10’s tomorrow.

Pac-10 race will be on Flotrack:

#3

no Merber…

#4

Cabral FTW. 2nd fastest time ever, with a bad cold. Makes Stanford look even more impressive (considering how badly their top three beat him at prenats).

Girls 1st with 33 as well; Banfich with a great time (only the 2nd person ever under 17 at heps).

#5

Stanford won’t win by that much, because the depth in the Pac-10 sucks and it will essentially be a dual meet, but they are way better than Oregon. As it stands, UO’s 4th and 5th are probably scoring 150+ pts. at NCAAs - which isn’t going to get much done.

Should also be humourous to see the Washington women get 4th. Metcalf is awful, and now that the Kelly Strong-shaped adhesive bandage is gone, it will only be more obvious.

#6

For the quality there is in Washington, they sure don’t produce.

edit: If acosta runs well, he could very well be in the top 20. If he runs like he has been, he’ll be over 100 places back.

#7

Haha

#8

I do not think Sheridan is running at Iona anymore, at least that is what was reported, Stogs knows

and Merber has been absent all year as well, with no explanantions that I know of.

#9

I hope you are talking about NCAA for AJ and not pac 10, considering i dont think there are that many runners in the pac 10 meet.

#10

Syracuse nips Louisville at Big East, Carey wins: http://www.prtrack.net/?page=events&command=viewresult&option=big-east-championship&id=big-east-championship-mens-8k

#11

The only way Acosta gets in the top 20 at NCAA XC is by taking a lot of drugs. He’s a great athlete, but 10km on the grass is not his forte. If he was 50th, I think that would be a fantastic run.

Stanford
Oregon
Coe (arugably)
Arizona ringer

Who am I missing?

That is shite depth.

For those of you not watching the 'StachieCast:

I had to turn the sound on for roughly 30 seconds to hear that, which made my teeth hurt … MY TEETH! so I don’t want to hear any moaning about the inexactness you ungrateful bastards.

#14

Did he go back to Waterford to hang out with David McCarthy or something? What’s the story with that guy?

#15

No idea on Sheridan altho I doubt he is with McCarthy, and I asked Flo Track guys to fly me around so I could announce these things, but they refused

Assholes.
You should’ve just grown a nice 'stachie to tip the scales in your favour.

#18

Not so sure about Conf. of the future

pretty sure CU bolsters Pac 10 next year and makes them kind of the conf of next year and beyond in this sport

#19

ortho, I had to laugh at that one, too funny

#20

I forgot about the conference shake-up, good point. Those 3 teams should be awfully good next year.
